Alex Toys new Moody Monster Manor App for the iPad and iPhone is a Hit!

It hasn’t even been out a week yet since launching on March 25th and it’s safe to say the new Moody Monster Manor app from Alex Toys is a certified hit, already making it to the first page of the Apple App Store’s “New & Noteworthy” section! If you’ve seen the number of apps floating around out there, you know just how impressive this feat is.

I’ve given this app a thorough run-through and it is fantastic. With a young child myself, who happens to be obsessed with my iPhone, I’ve had ample experience over the last few months with tons of the other educational apps available, and Moody Monster Manor is easily one of the best I’ve seen. Believe me when I say there are duds aplenty on the app market. Moody Monster Manor does not disappoint, rather it shows the potential of a truly great app. The distinct and playful Alex design sets the tone from start-up and the unique games and features distinguish it further ahead of the pack from there. l love the “create your own monster” feature which allows some fun personalization to the app, something I’ve noticed the majority of apps lack. If a child can create, name, and then play with their own monster, how can they be even more motivated to play the games and be more connected to how they perform, ultimately improving the learning experience?
My personal favorite game (all of them are excellent) is “Scared Sam”, which utilizes the built-in gyroscopic motion-sensing capabilities of the iPhone or iPad, allowing you to tilt the screen to direct a beam of light from a flashlight around the bedroom to help Sam capture the bad dreams. I had fun with that one!
Best of all it’s FREE. Let me repeat that, it’s FREE! No reason at all that you shouldn’t stop what you’re doing right now, go download Moody Monster Manor and let your kids give it a whirl. They’ll love it. All I can say, for the benefit of my little kiddo, I hope ALEX will be developing many more apps like Moody Monster Manor in the near future.
